B1.3 Licenced Aircraft Field Engineers

Opportunities available on a 28-day rotating shift – equal on/off working with The Children’s Air Ambulance Team (South) based at Oxford Airport, or Kent, Sussex & Surrey Air Ambulance based at Redhill

Applications are invited from B1.3 Type Rated Licenced Aircraft Engineers, to join the SAS family. MD902, AW169 and/or AW139 type ratings preferred but not essential as training can be provided to the right candidate. Your role will be being responsible for carrying out and the supervision and certification of airframe/engine and electrical system related tasks, as defined in the Company Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE).  All work to be in accordance with approved data and Company policies and procedures.

The Duties and Responsibilities of this role are:

  • Reporting to the Field Maintenance Manager
  • Completion of all paperwork and documentation in accordance with Company policy
  • Issue of all approved materials to the work via company computer systems
  • All work to be completed using approved tools and ground support equipment and in a safe and appropriate manner, with consideration of risk to personnel property and Company reputation
  • Ensure that the working environment is approved and appropriate to the task being undertaken
  • Responsible for the clear maintenance of the aircraft(s) located at your base
  • Responsible for your Line Station with respect to Station Husbandry, control of tooling, parts and consumables
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the issued company vehicle
  • Accounting for all tooling prior to return to service and post maintenance actions completed
  • Completion of maintenance as directed by Part 145 Management Team and Planning Team
  • Reporting defects to the appropriate persons
  • Ensuring matters regarding Health & Safety or Flight Safety are reported using the Company’s safety reporting system
  • Additional engineering duties on occasion, as directed by the Hangar or Maintenance Managers
  • Undertaking duties in accordance with the SAS culture, safety policy and appropriate procedures.
