SAS – CO-PILOT HOLD POOL

Specialist Aviation Services is a major player in the UK Air Ambulance market and we are currently recruiting for positions in our Co-Pilots' Hold Pool with the potential to join operations for:

  • Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust
  • Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance
  • Essex & Herts Air Ambulance
  • Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
  • Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance
  • MAGPAS, Cambridgeshire
  • The Children’s Air Ambulance North (Doncaster) & South (Oxford)

As a leading operator of the AW169 in the UK HEMS environment, SAS offers pilots the opportunity to fly the latest aircraft with state-of-the-art avionics.  Additional orders of this fantastic helicopter for our Charity Partner customers have resulted in the growth of the pilot numbers within SAS.

Co-Pilots are needed at the following Charity/SAS operating bases (Equal time rosters)

  • HEMS - Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, RAF Waddington, Lincoln
  • Successful applications for other bases would be placed in the pilot recruitment hold-pool 

Salary

  • Candidates with <1000 hrs Total Time - £34,898.74 rising to £39,148.80 over 2 years, additional allowances for IR/NVG/CRMI Ground
  • Candidates with >1000 hrs Total Time - £35,945.70 rising to £40,170.23 over 2 years, additional allowances for IR/NVG/CRMI Ground

Applicants will be considered with the following:

CO-PILOTS – minimum requirements

  • EASA ATPL (H) or,
  • CPL(H) IR with ATPL Theory Credit
    • 70 hours PIC
  • Class 1 Medical
  • Current EU passport
  • Level 6 English Language Proficiency (as shown on your EASA licence)
  • EU/UK Driving Licence
  • Right to live and work in the UK

CO-PILOTS – desirable

  • UK flying hours
  • 500 helicopter hours - total flying time 
  • Experience on AW169 or MD902
  • NVG experience
  • HEMS experience
