The role

Job purpose

To conduct audits and inspections in accordance with the SAS Compliance Monitoring Programme to ensure compliance with SAS policies, processes, procedures and EASA AOC & ATO approvals.                                                                                                                                

Key responsibilities

  • Ensures that the activities of SAS are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and standards, as well as any additional requirements as established by the company;
  • Shall support the Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM) to ensure that the Compliance Monitoring Programme is properly implemented, maintained, continually reviewed, and improved;
  • Compiling audit reports and identifying non-conformities and opportunities for system improvements;
  • Plan and conduct audits (scheduled and special) and inspections in accordance with the SAS Compliance Monitoring Programme
  • If required, assisting responsible managers with root cause analysis of findings and the development of corrective action plans (CAPs);
  • Reviewing CAPs for accuracy and effectiveness and offering support to ensure CAPs are comprehensive;
  • Tracking the implementation of CAPs to ensure timely completion;
  • Ensuring findings raised are closed satisfactorily or escalated to the CMM;
  • Ability to demonstrate relevant knowledge, background and appropriate experience related to the activities of SAS, including knowledge and experience in compliance monitoring; and accessibility to all parts of the organisation, and if necessary, any contracted
  • Act as the compliance monitoring point of contact for their assigned area of specialty;
  • Support the development and implementation of the SAS integrated Management System;
  • Assist with compliance monitoring which includes a feedback system to the accountable manager to ensure corrective action as
  • Monitors the continued compliance with requirements of Part Air Ops and ATO
  • Conduct Operational Compliance investigations as
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with EASA regulation in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Programme.
  • Responsible for the administration of the compliance database software
  • Representing the Compliance Monitoring function at departmental Safety Action Groups and other forums as required by the CMM
  • As and when required deputise for the CMM


  • Strict adherence to SAS Policy and Procedures
  • Any other duty deemed appropriate in support of the Safety and Compliance Management, or SAS

  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work, including management responsibilities as required by the HSE                                                                                                         


Essential Skills and Qualifications  

  • Ability to hold the appropriate security clearance required for the role
  • Active team player with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Sound knowledge of the organisation’s operations, procedures and activities
  • Sound knowledge of Part Air Ops and Part ATO regulations
  • Broad aviation technical knowledge including considerable experience within Operations
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and have completed appropriate QMS training
  • Experience in conducting safety/compliance audits and inspections
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internal and external to the organisation

 Desirable Skills

  • Aviation Related Qualification in Quality Management
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Compliance/ Audit Training
  • Experience of compliance/ quality management
  • Resourcefulness, adaptability and high level of personal motivation and commitment
