Compliance Monitoring Manager

Specialist Aviation Services have an opening for a Compliance Monitoring Manager to join our dynamic team and be part of the SAS family, undertaking their duties in accordance with the SAS culture, safety policy and appropriate procedures.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer the successful candidate will:

  • Ensure that the activities of SAS are monitored for compliance with the applicable regulatory requirements and standards, as well as any additional requirements as established by the company;
  • Ensure that these activities are being carried out properly under the supervision of the relevant head of the respective functional areas;
  • Shall be responsible to ensure that the Compliance Monitoring Programme is properly implemented, maintained, continually reviewed, and improved;
  • Conduct audits and inspections provided he/she has the related competence in the area of audits/ inspections to be conducted. He/she may appoint one or more auditors by choosing personnel having the related competences either from within or outside of SAS, assuring their independence.
  • Have direct access to the Accountable Manager
  • Have the ability to demonstrate relevant knowledge, background and appropriate experience related to the activities of the SAS, including knowledge and experience in compliance monitoring; and accessibility to all parts of the organisation, and if necessary, any contracted organisation.
  • Act as the unique focal point for the SAS’ Compliance Monitoring Programme
  • Implements compliance monitoring which includes a feedback system to the accountable manager to ensure corrective action as necessary.
  • Monitor the continued compliance with requirements of Part Air Ops and ATO
  • Accompany a competent authority auditor/surveyor throughout an audit to ensure organisation is fully aware of any findings raised during the audit.
  • Be responsible for the currency of SAS integrated Management System Manual (SiMS)
  • Act as Form 4 Holder and Competent Person for Compliance Monitoring Management within the Operations functions in SAS.
  • Conduct Operational Compliance investigations as required.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with EASA regulation in accordance with the QMS. Strive to deliver excellence in accordance with the SAS vision and strategy.
  • Responsible for the development and management of the compliance database software.

Health and Safety

  • Understand individual operational safety and security responsibilities;
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others at work. Including Management responsibilities as required by H&S Manual.


  • Apply strict adherence to SAS Policy and Procedures
  • Assist with any other duty deemed appropriate in support of the Safety and Compliance Management, or SAS

Essential requirements

  • Ability to hold the EASA Compliance Monitoring Manager Form 4 as approved by the CAA
  • Ability to hold the appropriate security clearance required for the role
  • A confident and competent trainer having successfully completed a training delivery course
  • Capable line manager
  • Active team player with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Sound knowledge of the organisation’s operations, procedures and activities
  • Broad aviation technical knowledge including considerable experience within Operations departments.
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and have completed appropriate QMS training
  • Experience in conducting safety/compliance audits and inspections
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internal and external to the organisation

Desirable requirements

  • Aviation Related Qualification in Quality Management
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Compliance/ Audit Training
  • Experience of compliance/ quality management
  • Resourcefulness, adaptability and high level of personal motivation and commitment
