The role

Job purpose

The Planner is responsible to provide supervision and coordination of aircraft maintenance activities, tools, parts, materials, and manpower to meet operational demands.

Key responsibilities

  • Forecast and schedule aircraft maintenance, materials, and workload for both line and base maintenance stakeholders.
  • Supports the Technical fleet strategy by including the base maintenance slot plan and the major component overhaul plan
  • Build, monitor, audit and close work order packages in a timely manner. Supervise progress of work orders with Field and Base maintenance teams.
  • Coordinate with the Logistics and Spares team to ensure parts availability for planned maintenance
  • Maintain current and accurate aircraft maintenance status in company maintenance databases.
  • Act as the liaison between Field Engineers and Customers for AOG reporting and recovery. Keeping them informed of maintenance status, timelines and developing circumstances.
  • Establish priorities based on safety, current operational needs and company policy.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive and cooperative teamwork environment with flight crews, department managers, field personnel, customer and company employees.
  • Contribute to the development of a planning led environment that ensures all operational information is current and available in a centralised location to assist in informative decision making.
  • Ability to develop procedures in accordance with company requirements.
  • Ability to interpret OEM and technical documentation.
  • Emergency Response. Responding to crisis events as an Emergency Response Plan Coordinator and maintaining knowledge of the company emergency response programme policies, processes and procedure
  • Complying with operational safety and security issues.
  • Be aware of personal health and safety and the health and safety of others.


Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Production and/or Maintenance Planning in aviation background
  • Good understanding of aircraft maintenance practises and regulations.
  • Proved experience in coordination of a live operational environment.
  • Good command of both verbal and written English.
  • IT and MS Office proficiency.
  • A positive attitude and solutions orientated approach.
  • A high degree of customer focus, both internal and external
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours if required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to work.
  • Confident, approachable and enthusiastic
  • Accurate, numerate and excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player with the ability to work with a degree of autonomy.
  • Flexibility to travel when required.
